If Wenger starts these 2 Arsenal stars tonight, Swansea’s survival dream will be shattered

Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to continue the march onto regaining Champions League football next season.

The Gunners are not currently among the European elite for the first time under Arsene Wenger and this season is all about getting back into that mix, so our punters feel they can take another step closer by beating Swansea tonight.

Having finally got over the Sanchez deal, things will hopefully settle at the Emirates and they can find their rhythm. Wenger should be riding the momentum wave of reaching the first cup final of the season last week after dumping London rivals Chelsea out of the cup.

However, the focus should now turn to the Premier League and how players who are on the fringes should be pushing the first team a little more. Indeed this could start against relegation-threatened Swansea tonight and out landlord takes a look at two players that have to start…

Olivier Giroud

The Frenchman has been largely used as a substitute this season, and an impactful one at that. However, Giroud, despite being linked with many moves away is according to the barman, desperate for first team action on a regular basis alongside getting a place on the plane to Russia this summer.

With that in mind, a fired up Giroud should be killing himself to make an impression to not only his club manager but his national manager too.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

After finally completing his move from Manchester United, the Armenian will be eager to show what he can do to his new fans at the Emirates. Mkhitaryan has a point to prove, not only to his new boss Wenger but to the man that let him go, Jose Mourinho.

No doubt in our regulars mind that the attacking midfielder can be a success at the Gunners, only if he is given the comforting arm around the shoulder he seems to need and regular first-team football.
