The Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been celebrating a sensational start to the season, but a significant injury to Marouane Fellaini during the international break has dampened the mood around Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho’s men have dropped just two Premier League points and are only behind their bitter rivals Manchester City on goal difference at the summit of the division. Explosive talents such as Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba- who is also sidelined- have dominated the headlines, yet the effectiveness of the imposing Fellaini hasn’t gone unappreciated by our resident Red Devils.
The former Everton midfielder has scored four goals in his last five games, therefore news that he came off injured in Belgium’s 4-3 World Cup Qualifying win over Bosnia and Herzegovina with suspected cruciate ligament damage would have shocked the United faithful. Fortunately, that outcome has been avoided and he is expected to only be out for a few weeks, according to Sky Sports.
However, it does mean he will unavailable for the big clash with Liverpool this Saturday, as well as fixtures against Tottenham and Benfica potentially.
With that in mind, here’s how some of the fans reacted online.
Fellaini subbed off due to injury, this is why I hate international breaks.

Martinez is a joke, team already qualified and Fellaini was already carrying an injury, why the hell was he playing?

Fellaini subbed off because of a knee injury during Bosnia v Belgium. Never thought I’d be upset to hear such news about Fellaini.

Two seasons ago Fellaini’s injury wouldn’t be a problem but now it is a huge problem. Life!
