The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted when their side confirmed that Dominic Solanke had agreed terms on a move this summer…
One of Chelsea’s most impressive young players, he looks destined to become a star, and his recent performances at the Under-20 World Cup have proven his qualities once more.
Scoring frequently for England as the young side won the competition, there can be no doubting his quality now. Indeed, as displayed by Opta Joe on Twitter, the four goals that he scored did more than just help England win the competition – but they also put his name in the record books. He now holds the record for the most goals ever scored by an English player in the Under-20 World Cup.

Significantly, Solanke’s winning of the Golden Ball at the tournament also places him on to another very impressive list of players to have won the award. Notably, the same award was won by Lionel Messi, perhaps hinting at the path that Solanke could take if he continues to impress.
The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern can ‘t wait for him to get started.
