Rangers are back to winning form and the future is looking increasingly bright under new boss Pedro Caixinha, who has had a very good start at the helm of Ibrox.
Gers fans here in the Tavern seem to be more convinced than ever that the Portuguese gaffer is the man to take them forward, despite coming from widely unknown roots.
He’s already guided them to a convincing 4-0 win in the league and it seems that there’s plenty more opportunities to get wins in the division, despite the title being out of reach this campaign.
But with fan optimism arguably at the highest level it’s been at all season, these are much better times for Gers fans after a pretty dyer spell halfway through the Scottish Premier League campaign.
Caixinha has a decent squad at his disposal right now but there are some punters here in the bar that still aren’t convinced by a couple of players currently on the books.
So with that in mind, here’s TWO Rangers players that are getting nowhere near the starting XI under Caixinha…
Philippe Senderos

Again, despite his widely inexperienced roots in management, Pedro Caixinha is known for a fast-paced style of football, something Gers fans here in the pub are seriously looking forward to going forward.
But we can’t see the likes of Philippe Senderos making it into the starting XI anytime soon and he’s a player that’s best off leaving at the end of the season.
With European football set to be on the agenda next campaign, Gers can do a lot better than a man that has seriously struggled to perform for most of the campaign.
Matt Crooks
Former Accrington Stanley midfielder Matt Crooks is a man that divides opinion amongst Gers fans here in the Tavern.
There are those that don’t believe he’s had enough play-time to prove himself at Ibrox, whilst there are those that think he’s just never going to cut it, when it comes to European football and title-chasing.
The latter are probably right and even the barman thinks the midfielder, whose gone on-loan to Scunthorpe, probably won’t be getting near Caixinha’s first-team anytime soon.
