Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have had their concerns boosted by quotes from an international defender, who opened the door for a potential move to West London.
The Daily Express cite quotes from Wolfsburg defender Dante, who revealed his intention to join a ‘big club’ like Chelsea.
Dante, who left Bayern Munich in the summer with three Bundesliga titles and a Champions League crown, stated his intention during a Twitter Q&A with FIFA’s official website as he said:
“I always dreamed of playing in a World Cup for my country. I would like to play in a big club like Chelsea.”
Chelsea may be keen on the signature of the experienced 32-year-old given their current defensive woes, with a 1-0 defeat to Stoke City on Saturday sealing three consecutive Premier League defeats and seven overall in the league this season.
Now 13 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, and just three above the relegation zone, Chelsea are under intense pressure to turn things around immediately after the latest international break.
