Oldham Athletic failed to secure all three points against Tranmere Rovers last time out as they were pegged back in the second-half.
The Latics will be desperate to secure promotion straight back to League One after last season’s disappointment, with Frankie Bunn steering the ship at Boundary Park.
However, they haven’t been able to ensure consistency in the current campaign as they currently sit in thirteenth position after 19 games, with six points separating them from a play-off place.
But, Bunn has a trick up his sleeve in the form of one of Oldham’s star men, Sam Surridge, who currently holds the key to Oldham Athletic’s promotion party.
Sam Surridge joined on loan from Premier League side Bournemouth during the summer months, and it’s fair to say he has made headlines in League Two this season. The Englishman currently has nine goals and two assists to his name in 10 appearances for the Latics, as one of the form men in the Football League.
Oldham Athletic would have set their sights on promotion straight back to League One this season, but Surridge’s injury troubles have had a negative affect on their quest.
However, with the 20-year-old coming on as a substitute in Oldham’s last two games as they ease him back into proceedings, he will no doubt play a huge part for them from here on in.
The likes of Callum Lang and Ishmael Miller did manage to produce in his absence, so Bunn will now be looking to throw Surridge back into the fold to really boost their promotion push.
Therefore, with the striker establishing himself as one of the best in League Two, Oldham Athletic will breeze past the competition and secure promotion if he continues to fire on all cylinders.
