During the summer, West Ham were one of the most active teams in the transfer window from the Premier League.
And after slow starts to life at the London Stadium, the likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko have since shown that they are the sort of attacking reinforcements who can help improve the team drastically going forward.
Meanwhile, Issa Diop, has also proven to be quite the acquisition, slotting seamlessly into the Hammers’ back four following his arrival from Toulouse.
With all of that being said, not all of West Ham’s signings from the previous transfer window are yet to come good including Carlos Sanchez.
£1.35m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Sanchez joined Manuel Pellegrini’s side from Fiorentina just before the season started much to the surprise of supporters, and it has not been hard to see why his arrival brought so much bewilderment with it.
During his last stint in the Premier League with Aston Villa, simply put, the midfielder was terrible and has shown nothing to suggest he has improved as a footballer since making his return to English football.
It was Sanchez’s criminal bit of play in midfield that cost West Ham a point at the death in their 1-0 defeat at home to Wolves earlier in the campaign, while his ability on the ball and overall rashness makes him such a liability to have in the middle of the park.
Make no mistake, it will be hard to find a worse signing than the Colombian from the Premier League this season.
