The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern certainly enjoyed their dramatic win away at Burnley yesterday to keep them in the driving seat in the race for the automatic Champions League places. Indeed, our resident Reds haven’t stopped celebrating since!
However, not all of our local Liverpudlians are in a great mood. While, clearly, a win is a huge bonus, many of the Kopites who prop up our bar were hugely disappointed with the performance of Dominic Solanke up front. Handed a chance during the frantic festive period, the England U20 World Cup didn’t make much of an impression at Turf Moor.
With the likes of Mo Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino all missing the win, Liverpool fans online looked to share the same view in regard to the former Chelsea youngster. In fact, some of them even want to see Danny Ings – who hasn’t played regularly for around 2 years now – handed a chance instead.
