It’s not too late: These 2 Liverpool players will surely be axed tomorrow

The Liverpool supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern aren’t enjoying 2017 so far, with their side’s miserable form continuing on Saturday as they were beaten 2-1 at Anfield by Championship outfit Wolves in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

That followed their defeat to Southampton in the League Cup as they were knocked out of both competitions in the space of three days – one win in their last eight matches doesn’t make for pretty reading for the fans standing at the bar.

Attention will now turn to the end of the January transfer window for the supporters that frequent the tavern, who may well be hoping for some reinforcements to boost their struggling side.

While the landlord is keen on some new arrivals, there could be some fringe players leaving the Merseyside outfit too, with out-of-favour defensive duo Alberto Moreno and Mamadou Sakho among those unlikely to be happy with their current situations under Jurgen Klopp.

With the window slamming shut on Tuesday night, it’s not too late. This pair will surely be axed tomorrow…

Mamadou Sakho

The French centre-back hasn’t played for Liverpool since he was sent home from a pre-season training camp in America last summer by Jurgen Klopp for breaking the club’s rules, and he will surely be looking to secure regular football before the transfer window slams shut on Tuesday night – the Reds fans that frequent the tavern know a permanent transfer would be best for both parties.

The 26-year-old looks to have no future at Anfield while Klopp is at the helm and if he is to stay in contention for a place in the France national team, then he must be playing football.

Sakho has been linked with a move to the likes of the Reds’ Premier League rivals Southampton and Spanish side Sevilla, and both the defender and the Merseyside outfit will want a deal to happen before the deadline – and they aren’t the only ones as the landlord wants him off of the wage bill!

Alberto Moreno

No player will be happy when a teammate that is playing out of position is preferred in your spot, but that is exactly the situation that Moreno finds himself in – it is one that the Liverpool fans standing at the bar are happy with though.

The Spaniard obviously isn’t fancied by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp after some questionable performances at left-back, and James Milner has made the position his own under the German this season.

The 24-year-old did start in the 2-1 defeat to Wolves on Saturday, but he once again struggled as he was beaten too easily by Helder Costa for the second goal, before playing a poor pass to Divock Origi who would have been clean through on goal – the landlord continues to be enfuriated by the showings and is hopeful that an exit is on the cards.
