We here at the Transfer Tavern were delighted to see Sam Allardyce bounce back from the embarrassment of his tenure at the England national side’s manager.

He’s back in the club game with a return with struggling Premier League side Crystal Palace – to try and do what he does best and keep them up!

Having arrived following the sacking of Alan Pardew just before Christmas, the new gaffer will surely look to use the current January window to improve his side as he so successfully did so at Sunderland last season.

But, before Palace should look to add to their side, they really should consider allowing some players to leave the club.

Balancing the books is always key for those sides nearer the bottom of the league, particularly with the risk of Championship football being on the horizon.

So, with that in mind, it’s time for Sam Allardyce to get rid of these two Crystal Palace players this week…

Bakary Sako

Much was made of the player when he arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers but he has since played as an understudy to every winger at the club and has found time on the pitch very hard to come by.

With Allardyce arriving it doesn’t look like Sako is in his plans having not yet featured under the former Sunderland boss and so it seems like his time in south London is all but over.

Jordon Mutch

The former Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers midfielder hasn’t really made any kind of impact since signing for the club.

In fact, our landlord is sure that many of our punters here at the Transfer Tavern had even forgot the fact he was with the club and maybe it is best he leaves and tries to re-build his career with a team in the Championship.
