It’s been a seriously busy few days at Crystal Palace with a huge managerial replacement seeing Sam Allardyce taking the reigns at Selhurst Park, causing great debate here in the Transfer Tavern.

The Palace fans here by the bar don’t quite know what to make of the news but looking at their form, it’s easy to see why Steve Parish and co. made the decision to chop Alan Pardew.

Of course, the timing wasn’t ideal but what the decision does do is give Sam Allardyce the chance to gather up his thoughts going into one of the most important times of the season.

He needs to decide who is going to be leaving and joining the club this January and believe us, there are plenty of opinions knocking around the bar as to who should be coming in this winter.

So armed with some advice from our Palace-mad locals, here’s three January transfer targets Palace should buy as soon as possible…

Lucas Lima

He’s a man that’s drawing plenty of admirers from afar and Lucas Lima is the sort of player we think could bring a real attacking edge to clunky Palace.

He’s an attacking midfielder who plays for Santos, and is renown for his fancy skills, trickery and ability to beat players.

Palace have been lacking a little creativity at times this season and Lima could be just the answer to those problems.

Jermaine Defoe

Christian Benteke is beginning to find a bit of form for the Eagles but prior to him picking things up, Palace were seriously struggling for goals, which was a real problem.

One man that has consistently found the back of the net for years in the Premier League is Jermaine Defoe, who seems to be the only man keeping Sunderland in the division these days.

As safe bets go, he’s one of the best around and he certainly wouldn’t be a bad addition in the slightest.

Aleksandar Mitrovic

He’s one of the men that is struggling to get game-time at Newcastle thanks to the form of Dwight Gayle and plenty of our punters have touted the Serbian international Aleksandar Mitrovic to make a move to the Premier League this January.

He’s a hefty unit with plenty of time to develop still and we think he’d make a canny addition at Selhurst Park, being a man that could really take the pressure off the shoulders of Christian Benteke.
