There’s not much to moan about for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern right now, such is the nature of life under the masterful stewardship of Jurgen Klopp. 

Though Chelsea top the league, the Reds look like genuine title contenders once more and the ex-Borussia Dortmund coach has seemingly crafted a wonderfully fluid side.

Later tonight though, attentions on Merseyside turn towards the EFL Cup.

Leeds United visit Anfield for the first time in 13 years, providing Klopp with a real opportunity to make use of his squad in the build-up to the typically frantic festive period on these shores.

With that in mind, perhaps he’d be wise to drop some of the players he’s been using of late, both to rest them, as well as give others a chance to stake a claim in the first-team.

So, without further ado, here are TWO players Klopp should drop for tonight’s game.

Loris Karius

When he arrived over the course of the summer, the Liverpool fans propping up the bar were delighted to see what they hoped was an upgrade on the largely unpopular Simon Mignolet.

Still, little about Loris Karius has been overly reassuring this season, though he is a relatively young custodian adapting to the league.

With that in mind, perhaps reinstalling Mignolet for the cup clash could be a natural chance to take some pressure off of Karius.

Jordan Henderson

Dropping Jordan Henderson may be too harsh a term, but leaving him out of the game would be wise.

The Reds’ skipper has been in fine form of late, though his impressive new game relies heavily on fitness and keeping fresh, such are the nature of his energic performances from central midfield.
