It’s time for Pochettino to buy these 3 La Liga stars for Tottenham in January

Tottenham’s title chances took a blow at the weekend as they let Manchester United back into the equation at Old Trafford.

With our resident Spurs fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping their team would go to Old Trafford and at least get a point to bolster their title charge they performed pretty poorly as United won 1-0.

Certainly, the club have not really excelled when it comes to facing their title rivals this season with them only beating Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

It suggests, then, that reinforcements are needed in January if they are to continue challenging at the top of the Premier League with the likes of Chelsea beginning to run away with it at the summit.

Our landlord definitely agrees and thinks Mauricio Pochettino should use his knowledge of Spanish football to be looking at these three La Liga stars to help them do just that…

 Isco

iscooo

Isco is a classy midfielder and plays the ball very well but cannot hold a spot down in the Real Madrid team.

With the likes of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric around you can see why, too, and so he must be considering asking for a move away if Zinedine Zidane cannot assure him of a starting berth. The Spanish international would add some much needed creative flair at the heart of Spurs’ midfield and our landlord thinks he’d be a top drawer signing.

 Alvaro Morata

Morata

Morata, like Isco, doesn’t get the game time his ability warrants thanks to the likes of Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo around.

He’s a very good option to have off of the bench but with Real Madrid bringing through new youngsters all the time he should surely be thinking about moving away for the good of his career. A battle between him and Harry Kane would be fascinating to watch and would surely make Spurs a more competitive outfit.

 Arda Turan

Turanturan

The Turkish international reminded us all about what he can do with a hat-trick against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League last week.

He hasn’t played anywhere near as much as he’d have liked for Barcelona since signing from Atletico Madrid, though, and Spurs should be considering trying to prise him away in January. He’d undoubtedly give them that extra top level class they need at the moment.
