With Alexandre Lacazette on the horizon, Arsenal fans at the Tavern tonight have plenty to celebrate, but is there more to come their way?

Santi Cazorla’s time at Arsenal has been plagued with injury as of late and, speaking as a non-Arsenal fan, that’s a real shame that one of the brightest talents to come into the Premier League in recent memory, never got to display his talents.

The former Malaga and Villarreal man could have gone down as one of the best playmakers of the Premier League era, unfortunately, it’s looking like he’ll be on his way out of North London soon with only a handful of good memories to take with him.

Sadly, his time at the Emirates looks like coming to a premature end.

The 32-year-old Spaniard is a creative player, a great passer and a brilliant set-piece taker so finding a replacement won’t be easy but with Wenger apparently looking to spend big in this transfer window, there are a few players who fit the bill.

With that being said, here are TWO potential replacements for Santi Cazorla.

Ivan Rakitic

According to reports, Ivan Rakitic has told Barcelona that he will look for a move away from the Nou Camp, should they sign Marco Verratti from PSG.

The Blaugrana are apparently looking for a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta in the centre of midfield and although he doesn’t want to leave the club, Rakitic wants to be playing first team football ahead of the World Cup next year.

Should he hand in a transfer request, there should be no reason Wenger couldn’t be tempted to splash the cash on the Croatian, he’s the sort of player Wenger likes to have in his squad and he’s one of the best in the world in his position.

Matteo Kovacic

Another Croatian La Liga star, Matteo Kovacic seems slightly more likely than his Barcelona rival despite Zinedine Zidane recently issuing a hands-off warning to Manchester United and Jose Mourinho.

Whilst he gets plenty of game time in the Spanish capital, Kovacic is seemingly always backup to the preferred Casemiro which could be enough to tempt him into a move away should the right offer come his way.

Another creative midfielder, the 23-year-old is still young and still has much room for improvement with a similar creative style to the likes of Cazorla.
