According to reliable Tottenham journalist Alasdair Gold, youngster Jack Clarke has been ‘really impressing’ manager Jose Mourinho ‘behind the scenes’, coming after question marks surrounded his 2019 signing from Leeds United.
Clarke, who was immediately loaned back to Leeds upon completing his move to north London, has failed to replicate the promising form which compelled Tottenham to sign him for a fee rising up to £11.5m.

Indeed, despite showing flashes of brilliance for the Whites after returning on loan, Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa rarely deployed the youngster. The Yorkshire side then chose not to extend his temporary spell in 2019/20, with Queen’s Park Rangers swooping for the 19-year-old as a result.

However, he also found game-time limited in west London, playing just 140 minutes with the R’s preferring other options out wide.
This placed question marks surrounding Daniel Levy’s willingness to shell out big money for Clarke’s signature, but it appears the teenager could be resurrecting his form ‘behind the scenes’.
Indeed, relaying his latest on the player through Twitter, Gold claims that Spurs have been ‘rebuffing interest’ in the attacker as Mourinho hopes he can develop alongside Gareth Bale in training.
