Our landlord’s trying his best to prevent a full-scale riot in the Transfer Tavern, following a statement from Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick.
It’s safe to say Arsenal fans are as disillusioned as they’ve ever been with Arsene Wenger’s lengthy tenure of the north London club, following an embarrassing 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League.
Plenty in the Tavern are calling for serious changes at the end of the season, starting with Le Prof, and Sir Chips Keswick seemingly sought to alleviate concerns by publishing an official statement on Arsenal’s club website.
However, the 77-year-old’s update on how Wenger’s situation will be handled hasn’t gone down too well – in fact, it’s only further angered the club’s increasingly frustrated supporter base.
The statement ranged from vanilla to suspiciously vague and some Arsenal fans on Twitter are absolutely furious about it – even labelling the Gunners chairman as a part of the problem…
