Juventus Offering 1st Team Football

Despite having performed admirably for the Blues following the departure of Ricardo Carvalho, Alex may be about to leave Stamford Bridge.

Tuttosport has reported that Juventus are very keen on the centre-back, as they attempt to bolster an under-strength back four. The Italian giants have yet to lodge a bid for the Brazillian, but he is believed to be one of their top targets, alongside Wolfsburg’s Simon Kjaer.

After Carvalho left for Madrid, there were calls for Chelsea to sign a new top quality centre-back, but then-manager Carlo Ancelotti had faith that Alex was ready to make the step up. He cemented his place in the first-team with a string of good performances, and forged a solid partnership with fellow centre-back incumbent John Terry. He also bagged himself quite a few goals, scoring 7 so far in his time at Chelsea, quite a prolific return for a centre-back.

It is highly unlikely that Andre Villas-Boas would look to offload such a consistent and experienced member of his team, however it may be that Alex puts pressure on Boas to let him go. With the arrival of David Luiz at Chelsea, it looks as if Luiz and Terry will be the first choice partnership at the back, leaving Alex as a back-up player, something which the Brazillian isn’t too keen on.

Although reportedly happy at Chelsea, he made quite a furore about leaving in the 2008-09 season when his first team opportunities were limited, and with the prospect of that happening again this season, a trip to Italy may seem quite appetising.

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
