It’s starting to seem like it will never happen for the Spurs fans in the Football Transfer Tavern tonight, their search for a league title continues, but they may not be looking for much longer.

Tottenham fans have been dreaming of the league title since they last won it over 50 years ago. When they last won the title, England were yet to be crowned champions of the world so basically, it’s been a long time.

However, the last few seasons have got Spurs fans dreaming again with a second place finish last season and third place the year before.

Over the last couple of weeks, speculation has continued to grow around £50m-rated Ross Barkley and his potential move form Everton to Tottenham and whilst he may not be the player everyone thought he could be, there’s still time for the midfielder and if he was to be paired up with Alli and Kane, then Tottenham could have a serious attacking force on their hands.

On that note, here are two reasons why that potential trio should have Tottenham fans dreaming of Premier League glory…

Barkley and Alli can be match winners

Dele Alli has already proven over the last two seasons that he has the ability to turn a game around and pick up points for his side when they need them most, see his performance against Chelsea last season.

Alli alone should be enough to make Spurs fans think the title is possible but, if Barkley makes the move to Spurs and if, and it is a big if, the scouse midfielder can reach the potential so many people thought he would have reached by now, then Spurs have two match winners in their ranks and that’s if you don’t count Kane, Eriksen and Son too.

Kane’s goals

Harry Kane scored 30 league goals in 29 appearances last season. That is incredible. Those are Shearer numbers, in fact, those surpass Shearer numbers.

How many goals could Kane score in a full season when he’s on that kind of form? 35? 40? It seems like the sky is the limit for the 23-year-old forward right now and if he keeps going the way he is, he may even surpass that and win Spurs a Premier League title in the process.
