King Kenny’s £4M Rated Nutter Will Complete Anfield Jigsaw

Liverpool look set to complete a sensational swoop for Craig Bellamy after Roberto Mancini confirmed the striker would be able to leave the club for free this summer. The end of Bellamy’s career at Eastlands had long been signaled, and it seems Liverpool have succeeded where several clubs had failed and convinced the Welshman to join the ranks at Anfield.

Scottish giants Celtic declared their interest in signing the former Norwich frontman but Bellamy moved quickly to rule that move out.

This will be Bellamy’s second spell with Liverpool having played for the club for a largely unsuccessful year in 2006 in which the Welshman bagged only 7 goals.

Kenny Dalglish has been keen to bring in at least one more striker to provide back-up for Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez. Along with Dirt Kuyt, Liverpool will now have four strikers at the club – something you would have thought essential if they are to get into the top four.

Bellamy spent last year on loan at home town club Cardiff City and performed reasonably well. Whilst clearly not setting the world alight, Bellamy’s 11 goals helped the Bluebirds finish third before being beaten by Reading in the play-offs.

If Dalglish can get that sort of return from Bellamy this season, he will be satisfied with the Welshman’s contribution.
