Klopp delivers update on Henderson

The Premier League title race is starting to get fans rather excited but today’s trip to Craven Cottage was a rather nervy one, as James Milner managed to save the day from the penalty spot.

Liverpool are now heading into the business end of the season with silverware up for grabs in the Premier League and the Champions League. This could be the year that Jurgen Klopp finally secures an elusive trophy and it’s safe to say that fans are more than ready for silverware to rock up at Anfield.

Also, the German provided a positive injury update recently, which will come as a big boost for supporters.

What’s the news?

Jordan Henderson, who is valued at £25.2 million (by Transfermarkt), will link up with England next week despite missing today’s win at Fulham.

Sadly, the Englishman limped out of Wednesday’s Champions League win at Bayern Munich early on after twisting his ankle.

But, Jurgen Klopp had this to say about Henderson’s injury (as per Liverpool Echo):

“Yeah, it’s Hendo and Hendo will go to the national team,”

“I think he will have two or three days at Melwood with his rehab.

“But it looks positive, and I think he is in contact with Gareth that when he can train, he goes to the national team. And if he plays, then Gareth will decide.

“It was not that serious. And now in three or four days he should be fine.”

The Verdict:

Some fans have taken a dislike to Jordan Henderson over the years but it’s safe to say that he’s played a vital part in Liverpool’s quest for silverware in the current campaign, as he always give his all on the field and his leadership qualities have worked wonders in crucial games.

Indeed, hearing news that he’ll link up with England and that it looks positive will come as a big boost for Liverpool supporters as he’ll play a big part in their title push from here on in.

So, with Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture coming up against Spurs at the end of this month, it looks as if he’ll be fine to feature if he avoids suffering any setbacks while on international duty.

Liverpool fans, how big of a part do you think Henderson will play from here on in?
