Klopp must ask the owners to sanction these 3 January deals

The Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are longing for a bit of January investment…

Jurgen Klopp has led a tide of revolution into Anfield since his arrival last year, and the 2016/17 season is shaping up to be the Reds’ best in years.

A genuine title challenge looks likely to come as the season progresses, with Liverpool playing quick, impressive football under their German coach.

As is so often the case in the Premier League, January will represent Klopp’s only real chance to make a major change to his side through the course of the season, and our landlord thinks that the German must look to improve his side significantly.

Liverpool have done well, but sides like Chelsea look a step above them – and the only way that Klopp can improve that is by bringing players in.

With that said, Klopp must ask the owners to sanction these 3 January deals…

Christian Pulisic

Pulisic

Christian Pulisic has been linked with a move to Liverpool for a while – and it is definitely a deal that makes sense.

At just 18-years-old, Pulisic is a long-term solution to a problem that has plagued Liverpool for several years. They have always been heavily reliant upon Philippe Coutinho, and Pulisic would offer Klopp a real option.

Klopp has a link with Dortmund, so Liverpool could move ahead in any prospective deal.

Technical, fast and threatening – Pulisic has it all.

Virgil van Dijk

If there is one area of the Liverpool first team that can be criticised, it is the defence.

Sakho has been frozen out, and the long-term assurances of the likes of Lovren remain unknown.

Klopp could, then, be looking for an experienced centre-half – and there are few better options that Virgil van Dijk.

Since moving to Southampton, van Dijk has quickly emerged as one of the Premier League’s best, and he would be a great fit at Anfield.

Moussa Dembele

Liverpool will undoubtedly spend much of January looking towards players that can help their cause this season – but they must not forget about the future.

Dembele has been seriously impressive for Celtic this season, and Liverpool have, expectedly, been drawn into the mix for his signature.

At just 20-years-old, he is certainly a signing for the future – but with incredible technical ability and an eye for a goal, Dembele is destined for the big time.
