The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to the return of the Premier League. After a mixed few weeks, the Reds were picking up a bit of momentum before the break, and the fans in the pub are keen for that to continue when they return this weekend. Unfortunately, though, the tough test provided by Southampton is currently standing in their way this weekend.
The Saints have had a pretty difficult season so far, with Mauricio Pellegrino not yet able to really put his mark on his new team.
However, Jurgen Klopp cannot go into this game expecting an easy win. He’ll need to be wise about his team selection, particularly with regards to the Reds’ last Premier League game, as this fixture will pose a different task for them.
With that said, Klopp needs to consider dropping these 2 Liverpool players against Southampton today – agreed?
Georginio Wijnaldum

Georginio Wijnaldum has been decent this season, but he hasn’t done much to suggest that he is undroppable.
Unfortunately for him, in Liverpool’s current midfield state, that could spell bad news for him. Klopp has so many options in his position, and it may only be a matter of time before he is dropped in favour of someone else.
With Emre Can, Jordan Henderson and even Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to choose from, Klopp has no shortage of options.
If the Ox is to keep his place, it could be Gini that loses his spot.
Ragnar Klavan

Ragnar Klavan’s recent role in the Liverpool first team has been characterised by pointless skills that have endeared him to the Anfield faithful, but his defending hasn’t been without flaws.
The Reds have struggled at the back at all season long, and it doesn’t appear as though anyone is immune to errors.
He hasn’t been particularly poor, but it makes sense for Jurgen Klopp to change things up until they are absolutely perfect. Joe Gomez has looked very good, and perhaps he could get a chance in the middle.
