Jurgen Klopp’s recent transfer activity has pleased our Transfer Tavern Liverpool fans as their pursuit of an inaugural Premier League title looks a real possibility.

Despite this, Klopp critics were out in large for his lack of replacements in critical areas. The Reds are undeniably brutal going forward. However, their ability to defend raises a lot of question marks that will require answers before the end of the season.

With France international Olivier Giroud regularly destroying opposition defences at Arsenal since his induction to the Premier League, many of the Liverpool faithful here at the Transfer Tavern are hoping Klopp dips his hand into the French market.

Djibril Cisse is arguably the club’s most infamous French player, but his Anfield career was cut short due to two devastating leg-breaks.

The less said about Mamadou Sakho, however, the better.

Klopp is known for his eye for a bargain in the transfer market, and these are TWO French players he simply must consider signing in January.

Layvin Kurzawa

If there is one real weakness in the Liverpool squad currently, it’s the gaping hole at left-back.

Klopp has asked James Milner to fill the void left by Alberto Moreno as the Spaniard continues to dissatisfy our Liverpool faithful here at the Tavern with his awful defending.

Kurzawa was once European football’s most coveted young left-back, and his parent club PSG could be keen to sell the former Monaco player.

Geoffrey Kondogbia

Inter Milan’s Kondogbia is the club’s most expensive acquisition; however, turmoil exists at the club currently, and the Italian giants could be tempted into a sale.

The Frenchman has registered just 26 appearances in the league for Inter, and Klopp should be waiting in the wings to purchase the former Monaco player.

Kondogbia’s attributes would be ideally suited to the English game as his physical, and robust nature would add the necessary steel for Jurgen Klopp’s title challenge.
