Watford fans here at the Transfer Tavern are thrilled to be seeing their team extend their stay in the Premier League with the Hornets firmly mid-table. Despite controversially parting ways with Marco Silva half-way through the season, Watford have remained as good a team under new boss Javi Gracia.
One player who has been instrumental to their current good form is loanee Gerard Deulofeu, who is rated at £12.60 million on Transfermarkt. The 23-year-old is on loan from Barcelona and ever since his January arrival has proved a handful for opposing Premier League teams. Winger Deulofeu is blessed with obvious talent, it’s no wonder why he still technically remains a Barcelona player. The Spaniard is very tricky and also has a considerable amount of pace that has proven to be immensely difficult to defend against. On his debut against Chelsea, he scored one and assist one on their way to a 4-1 victory over the Blues and that game alone should be enough to make Watford consider making his move a permanent one.
His arrogance to want the ball is incredible, all he wants to do is drive forward with the ball to create chances for his team-mates. In the four games he has played in for Watford since joining on loan, the Hornets have won three of those and that is by no means a coincidence. Deulofeu makes the team look a lot better and more direct to now form a threatening team to play against.
Whether Watford could secure a deal with Barca to keep him permanently is another issue but the Hornets should ensure they do all they can to secure a top talent now and for the future.
