Our Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting there to still be a little bit of movement going in and out the Old Trafford door before the window slams shut on Wednesday.
Jose Mourinho has surely signed one the stars of the Premier League in this window, and many of our regulars certainly didn’t see it coming. However, there was much talk around outgoings needed to happen to balance the books after a fair few summers of heavy spending.
Albeit Sanchez was a swap deal for Mkhitaryan, we still feel there’s more to go. With United looking very strong and having undoubtedly their best season in the post-Fergie era, Mourinho will have to step up his ruthless game in order to keep things fresh and vibrant.
With that in mind, our landlord takes a better look at two players that he thinks should be moved on before February 1st…
Matteo Darmian

The Italian fullback hasn’t really found his feet at United. He was brought in under ex-boss Louis Van Gaal and, since then, has slowly declined. He’s struggling for bench time never mind the first-team action and, with United getting stronger, it’s hard to see where the break for Darmian is going to be.
His best bet at this stage would be to cut ties and force a move out as soon as possible in order to re-find his form and confidence.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan is by no means a United flop in the eyes of our local Manc faithful, but this season through injury and lack of game time, it seems is not the player he was. At his age now and with the arrival of Sanchez, it feels like it’s time to move on for the big Swede.
There is surely interest from China and America, which would suit Zlatan in his final years. His ability to bring attention to the game would suit either countries leagues but for now, our regulars feel that the time is up for Zlatan.
