When Marcelo Bielsa signed Patrick Bamford from Middlesbrough over the summer there was a positive vibe all around Elland Road. The fans backed Bamford to be the man to get the goals in Bielsa title chase, however, after suffering a serious knee injury it looks like he won’t be able to find his feet in the side until January when he returns.

The fact that he’s out of action doesn’t mean that The Whites have forgotten about the 25-year-old. Much the opposite as the club’s fans have been getting behind Bamford on Twitter and urging him to get back to fitness as soon as possible as they desperately need a striker alongside Kemar Roofe to take some pressure off of the former Oxford United man. Although for now, they’re coping with Roofe alone.
Bielsa has turned Leeds into a Championship juggernaut and they currently sit at the top of the table, just above Norwich City on goal difference. Even though they’re top, it hasn’t all been plain sailing as a number of injuries have racked up and they’ve been unable to turn draws into wins when it’s mattered. That’s where Bamford will come in and shine through. When the ex-Chelsea man is back his goalscoring touch will surely prove decisive as the Elland Road faithful look to avoid fading away after Christmas and reach the ultimate goal of Premier League football.

The Whites are desperate to have Bamford back and amongst the goals but will have to wait at least a few more months for that to happen.
