Today, Leeds United announced on Twitter, with a link to the club’s website, what their new squad numbers would be for the season. There have been some significant changes as Bailey Peacock-Farrell will be number one whilst Ronaldo Vieira has taken number eight. However, the numbers three, five and nine are all blank and the fans think they’re set for some new arrivals.

No one can accuse Leeds fans of not being a bright bunch. It didn’t take the fans long at all to clock that three of their most significant squad numbers were blank and given some of the players they’ve been linked with this summer you can’t blame them for putting two and two together over some new arrivals. Some fans have even gone as far as to call who the takers will be for the club’s vacant numbers.
Most fans are in agreement that Derby’s Matej Vydra will be taking the vacant number nine jersey, however, Patrick Bamford could also be in the running for it. Meanwhile, the number three shirt will almost certainly go to Wolves defender, Barry Douglas who looks destined to become a White at Elland Road. The only one that leaves is a potential new centre-back at number five, although the fans will just have to wait and see.

3, 5 & 9 ….does not take a genius to figure out 3 more signings in those positions would fill a nice gap
