Leeds fans on Twitter pleased to see Hernandez sign for CSKA

In the early stages of the transfer window, Leeds United found themselves linked with every player under the sun. One of those was Abel Hernandez and after the free agent couldn’t agree a deal with The Whites due to his ridiculous wage demands, talks commenced between his representatives and CSKA Moscow.

The Uruguayan striker how now signed a deal with the Moscow club, ending any talk that he could be signing for Leeds, even though that one died weeks ago. However, it will be nice for the fans to see that he’s not still kicking around for futile links to a move in future transfer windows. Instead, the club managed to sign Patrick Bamford from Middlesbrough and whilst his goalscoring record may not be as impressive, the fans are delighted that he’s signed.

One of the major concerns surrounding Abel Hernandez was that the striker couldn’t stay fit. In his time at Hull City, the 27-year-old could never string together a serious run of games without being interrupted by some sort of niggle here of there. If Hernandez succeeds at CSKA then it will mean to little to the Elland Road faithful, who on the whole, are pleased that he didn’t make the move to Yorkshire when he had the chance.
