This season has seen Marcelo Bielsa work his magic in more ways than one. The Argentine has got it all in his managerial locker, and the way he’s gone about turning this Leeds side, that finished 13th last season, into a title challenging side is incredible, with his star man Kalvin Phillips superb again as they regained top spot.

Leeds fans have watched on with delight as a number of their key players have undergone incredible transformations in the last 12 months. At this stage last season the Whites were seven games into a run that would see them win just two games out of 19 in the Championship. However, at the moment they don’t look like losing many games at all, a number of key players stepping up.
One of those players has been the industrious Kalvin Phillips, who has shone throughout the season whilst being deployed as the all-important defensive midfielder in Bielsa’s system. The youngster’s ability to dictate play, break up opposition attacks and play balls through the lines to start counter-attacks of his own has made him a frightening young player, and the Whites are ecstatic to see Bielsa getting the best out of him.
