Leeds United saw themselves knocked off of top spot in the Sky Bet Championship last night as West Brom won away at Preston North End 1-0 with a late goal at Deepdale.
It’s been a fascinating battle at the top of the league between the two sides so far this year and it is clear that both have got more than enough about them to keep it up and get into the Premier League for next year.
West Brom edged their hosts last night, then, but not without controversy with many feeling that the penalty that yielded their winner should not have been awarded in the first place.
Indeed, Leeds fans on Twitter were up in arms as the call eventually saw them dislodged from top spot so let’s take a look at some of what was said in response on Twitter after journalist Graham Smyth shared the clip:

That is a blatant dive, surely retrospective action for deceiving the referee?

Wonder if the player will be banned for deceiving the referee like Gayle last season?

That’s a joke.

Annoyance to Preston and Leeds fans, then, as we rumble towards Christmas.
