Leeds fans take to Twitter in fear as Derby playoff semi-final is confirmed

Bielsa

Leeds fans have had it rough recently. The usual ‘Marcelo Bielsa curse’ talk has come up as the Argentine’s reputation for his side’s burning out late into the season has once again happened. The Whites have taken one point from their last 12 and after losing to already relegated Ipswich yesterday the supporters have no faith in beating Derby in the playoffs.

First up, Leeds finish third. They'll play Derby County in the play-offs. #lufc

This clash between Leeds and Derby in the playoffs obviously sets up a return meeting for the sides for the first time since ‘spygate’ was resolved, and it will bring up plenty of questions undoubtedly. As far as Bielsa is confirmed, he must ignore all of the ignorant journalists’ jibes about the whole incident and focus on his side’s playoff prep, especially given their current form.

Should the Elland Road club go into their two-legged clash with Derby and play as they did yesterday then they can wave goodbye to both promotion and their chances of even making it to Wembley in the first place. It will be a lot of hard work undone given Bielsa’s efforts this season, but there are no prizes for finishing 3rd and the Yorkshire club will have to be at their best to win the playoffs.

Derby will beat us for sure. Im very optimistic. (Not)

I don’t think we’ll get anywhere near Wembley

— Sparkler (@Sparkler8182) May 5, 2019

Leeds prove me wrong but can't see us making it to Wembley on this form.

Players missing from injuries and suspension.
Team confidence has left the building.
Just waiting for the Fat Lady to sing

Can anyone honestly say that they’re looking forward to the Play-offs? We won’t beat Derby playing like that.

Derby will go into these games with more confidence than us.. easy to understand why even though we’ve done them twice..

He who laughs last .

Derby were on fire today. Absolutely battered West Brom. We will get spanked unless we get out of this rut and turn up. But we know how to turn it on when we bother. Shocking shocking today.

The Whites are full of fear and little hope as their Derby clash has been confirmed and who can blame them given recent performances.
