It is claimed the Championship leaders are focused on adding the 21-year-old to their squad and his arrival would complete their incoming transfers for January.
The Wales international has impressed for The Swans this season and Marcelo Bielsa is thought to be extremely keen on having him at Elland Road.
James has played 17 times for Graham Potter’s side, having recorded three assists and one goal in those appearances.
The Verdict:

There is no doubt that James has plenty of ability and quality and would immediately help to improve the options Leeds have on the wing.
Swansea will not want to lose one of their best players, but the fact that a fee is being discussed could be a promising sign for Leeds.
However, it remains to be seen if the two Championship sides can come to some form of an agreement with just a week of the transfer window left to go.
