Leeds United will need to up their game if they are to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League in the current campaign as they now find themselves chasing the top two teams.
Marcelo Bielsa would love nothing more than to secure automatic promotion this season as it would provide the Yorkshire club with the perfect opportunity to bring in big-name players in the summer transfer window.
What’s the news?
It appears as if the Whites already have their eye on someone ahead of the summer transfer window, as according to the Guardian’s Ed Aarons (via his personal Twitter account), Leeds are interested in Yohan Benalouane.

Benalouane will enter the final 12 months of his current deal at the City Ground at the end of this season after becoming Martin O’Neill’s first signing as Nottingham Forest boss back in the January transfer window.
The central defender has been simply sensational for Forest as he always manages to ensure defensive solidity and never looks fazed at the heart of the defence.
The Verdict:

Leeds United fans will agree that Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson have built a special partnership at the heart of the defence in the current campaign, which has helped their promotion push massively.
However, the likes of Gaetano Berardi and Kalvin Phillips have had to fill in at the heart of the defence in Jansson and Cooper’s absence at times, so it’s clear to see that the Yorkshire club need to bring in another central defender.
Benalouane has already proved his worth in the Championship but it remains to be seen as to whether he could make the step up to the Premier League if Leeds secure promotion.
Leeds United fans, do you think Benalouane could fit in at Elland Road?
