Leeds and Manchester United have a long-running rivalry that still verges on getting out of hand in the Transfer Tavern and although few players have moved between the two clubs in recent memory, Theo Richardson could be about to cross the divide.
Indeed, FootballInsider24/7 are reporting that the 18-year-old goalkeeper was named in the Red Devils’ U-18 team’s matchday squad for last Friday’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool and is closing in on a switch to the Premier League giants.
Although he was an unused substitute, his presence shows that he’s being assessed by the club and comes in the wake of a tweet from unofficial Twitter account, @leedsutdaccademy, confirming that the second year scholar was free to move on and that he had a trial with the Manchester giants.

Richardson has been a regular in Leeds’ U-18’s team this season and has been dubbed one of the club’s rising stars.
Man United have a long history of nurturing talented young players, which may appeal to the teenager, even if his potential route into the first-team is littered with obstacles.
