Responding to a heartwarming tweet from Leeds United defender Barry Douglas, many Whites fans have applauded a brilliant gesture to the player’s grandparents who are currently self-isolating from the coronavirus – with supporters describing the footage as ‘magical‘, ‘different class‘ and ‘brilliant‘.
Douglas, who has started just four Championship games this season (WhoScored), with fellow full-back Stuart Dallas seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order, uploaded a tweet which debatably showcased the positive side of humanity at the weekend.
The Scotsman’s grandparents, who are currently staying at home to avoid the COVID-19 pandemic, have been implored to by the government after a statement urged vulnerable British citizens to self-isolate for 12 weeks. Easing the burden, a friend of Douglas’ mother’s popped by their house to provide some much-needed entertainment from outside the window – hilariously pretending to play a guitar whilst dancing.
In response, many Leeds fans have praised the gesture – find all of their best comments down below.
