Leeds United: Fans bash PFA statement related to Kiko Casilla racism incident

After the PFA released a statement apologising to West Bromwich Albion winger Jonathan Leko for not helping to deal with the Kiko Casilla racism incident sooner, many Leeds United fans have blasted the Professional Football Association’s ‘useless‘ actions.

Leko, who was racially abused by Leeds keeper Kiko Casilla at the Valley back in September 2019, has had to wait nearly six months for the issue to be settled – with the 33-year-old shot stopper eventually fined £60,000 and handed an eight match ban (BBC). The Spaniard, who will be replaced by loanee keeper Illan Meslier in the mean time, has attracted plenty of debate from Whites supporters – but in this instance, many fans have backed Leko over the PFA’s response which ‘smacks of reactivity‘. As well as being fined and banned, Casilla must attend a face-to-face education session surrounding the incident – with the keeper also apologising on Twitter.

As a result of the PFA’s statement of apology to Leko, many Leeds fans have taken the opportunity to blast their handling of the situation on social media – find all of their best comments down below.
