Responding to footage courtesy of Leeds United’s official club account, many Whites supporters have been drooling over January signing Ian Carlo Poveda’s contribution during the U23s’ 1-1 draw with Barnsley – with fans suggesting he looks ‘ quality‘ and could go on to ‘be a world star‘.
Poveda, who signed for the Whites in January on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee, has had to wait a while to be given a chance in Marcelo Bielsa’s first team – but this sublime assist for the U23s could very well turn the manager’s head.
Picking the ball up in midfield, Poveda swiftly turned and utilised close control – then running in behind to set up fellow youngster Bobby Kamwa for a tap-in. Reacting to the footage, many Leeds supporters are now begging Bielsa to give Poveda his shot on the bench – all the while praising his heroics on Twitter.
