Responding to a post by Leeds United’s official club account, many Whites supporters have been worshipping former keeper Paul Robinson’s past heroics against Swindon Town in the 2003 Carling Cup – hailing the ‘amazing‘ moment and ‘mayhemic‘ scenes.
The Ex-England international, who started 93 league games in total for Leeds from 1997 to 2004 (SoccerBase), performed some memorable heroics for the club during the latter stages of his Elland Road career – scoring an injury-time equaliser for the club against Town and going on to make a decisive save in the ensuing penalty shoot-out.
Robinson’s contribution at both ends of the pitch helped Leeds to claw their way into the Carling Cup third round, with the keeper’s goal resulting in ‘mayhemic’ scenes. As well as the Whites, Robinson plied his trade for Burnley, Blackburn and Tottenham – all the while managing to rack up 41 caps at international level.
