Leeds United travel to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday for what is a huge Yorkshire derby in the Championship.
Both clubs have started very well in the second tier this season, with the Whites going into the match in second place and the Owls just behind them in third (BBC Sport).
The game also sees ex-Leeds manager Garry Monk take on his former club, with the 40-year-old having recently taken charge of Sheffield Wednesday.
Ahead of the game, Ezgjan Alioski – who has made 12 appearances out of 13 games in the Championship this season – has been speaking to the media about coming up against the Owls and Monk.
However, he made some surprising comments and indicated that he didn’t even know who Monk was. He also refused to give Wednesday much credit, instead insisting that it will be a tough game for the opposition.
“To be honest I don’t know who is Garry Monk and I don’t watch the coach and what he is doing and what start he has had,” Alioski said (via Yorkshire Evening Post).
“I think Sheffield know what it will be like and it will not be easy for them,” he continued.
Some fans were unhappy with what Alioski had to say, suggesting that he has just done Monk’s team talk for him and that they will now be even more fired up for the game at Hillsborough.
Here is how some supporters reacted to the North Macedonian’s comments…
Just done Monk’s teamtalk for him there. Wednesday are every bit as good as us at present, it will be no walkover. Especially if they score first.
