The Whites could not break down the Owls defence and were forced to settle for a point, which left them in third place in the Championship table at the time of writing (BBC Sport).
It would be fair to say that Leeds weren’t at their best on the day, but one player who did recieve praise for his performance on social media was goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.
The Spanish shot-stopper made a crucial save from Steven Fletcher’s shot in the first half and managed to keep his seventh clean sheet of the season (WhoScored).
He has received criticism from supporters in the past, particularly after their play-off semi-final defeat to Derby County last season where his mistake led to a goal (BBC Sport).
But he is starting to win fans around with some excellent performances this season, and against Wednesday he made a total of four saves, 19 passes and three high claims (via @LUFCData).
Here is what some of the Leeds faithful had to say about Casilla after the game at Hillsborough…
Man of the match for me. And he’s our most improved player

Not his biggest fan but he was excellent today and has been most of season.

Yes. Kiko was MOTM today.

Had the Derby incident not happen in the play offs I don’t think he’d have so many detractors. He’s been pretty good for us in the main. High line at free kicks means that anything hit with any height in behind Kiko is coming for. #lufc

It was a difficult start to Kiko Casilla’s future at Leess but now he seems a lot more confident and some of the saves he made yesterday shows how good he can be #lufc #mot
