Loads of Leeds fans have been reacting to some news relayed by Phil Hay, as he shared a report from The Athletic regarding the future of Ben White.
The Elland Road faithful have been desperate to tie White down to a permanent deal from very early on in the season, as the Brighton loanee has shone consistently throughout the campaign, rarely putting a foot wrong. Per Whoscored (before Millwall match), the 22 year-old makes 1.8 tackles and 2.5 interceptions per game, while also fitting Marcelo Bielsa’s style perfectly with an 85% pass success rate.
Unfortunately though, The Athletic report that Brighton could be preparing for a future without Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk, meaning White would be central to their plans going forward. The report claims White is a ‘big part of their strategy’, and while it does state Leeds would be contenders if permanent transfer happened, it continues to claim ‘the only destination’ for the defender is at the heart of Graham Potter’s back four.
Of course, this has prompted quite the reaction from Leeds supporters after Hay relayed the news, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
Let’s hope they get relegated

Given we do get promoted, the player loves the club and wants to stay and investment arrives, BHA have a fight on their hands to keep the lad.
Player/ agent power and all that.
He’s totally bonded with the players and club.
KP especially.

Unless he asks to leave. Only a dream for us unless we go up

It’s so crucial we go up this season. It’ll be our last chance. Bielsa, Ben, Philips.. amongst others will be gone if we don’t go up. This is our chance. Let’s support them through everything. CMON BOYS!
