Responding to a Twitter post by the EFL, many Leeds United supporters have flocked to state their disgust at the one year anniversary celebrating Chris Basham’s winner for Sheffield United at Elland Road last season – with fans stating a sarcastic ‘thanks‘ with one supporter also suggesting his birthday is ‘ruined‘.
Basham, who’s late goal for the Blades helped them climb above Leeds and into the second automatic promotion spots last season, debatably starting Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s downfall in their quest for top-flight status, is now the subject of reactions on Twitter after his goal has been brought back to light.
The Englishman, 20 minutes from full time, steered home the winner from 20 yards – giving Chris Wilder’s side a much-needed promotion boost over their Yorkshire rivals. Re-living that moment, many Whites fans have been sick to their stomach over the emerged past footage – blasting the EFL’s post on social media.
