Leeds United: Fans react to news that Pablo Hernandez could be offered a new deal

Leeds United fans have been reacting to the news that the club are preparing to open talks with Pablo Hernandez regarding a new deal.

According to a report by Football Insider, which was relayed in a Twitter post by All Leeds HQ, the Whites are ready to try and thrash out a deal with the veteran and extend his contract.

The 34-year-old’s current deal expires next summer, after agreeing to a new two-year contract last year, however his influence on the side is to be something that has continued to impress despite his advancing age.

Hernandez has been instrumental for the Elland Road outfit ever since joining them in 2017 on a free transfer, as he has managed to score 29 goals and provide a further 32 assists in his 130 appearances to date for the club (TransferMarkt).

Indeed, he does not appear to be slowing down either as the Spaniard has become a key member of Marcelo Bielsa’s side as well, having already made eight appearances (two goals and two assists) this season for the Argentine boss.

Fans were jubilant upon hearing the news that Hernandez could be offered a new deal, with many of them taking to Twitter to share their delight.

Love him, but he seems to get a little bit more tired each year, yet his eye for a pass no one else sees, seems to be getting better. Be nice to keep him, if we don’t go up, deffo! If we do then the answer changes.
