Plenty of Leeds United fans have reacted to Phil Hay’s comments on the news that the Premier League season can now return to contact training.
Championship players have been gradually returning to non-contact training this week as the pandemic seems to be slowing down, prompting speculation over when the 2019/2020 season will be completed.
Leeds, who have been in superb form throughout the campaign, sit top of the Championship table and look set to secure an automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The Whites fans are eagerly anticipating football’s return to see if their side can secure a return to England’s top flight, having lost out to Derby County in the play-off semi-final stage last season.
And, those fans will now feel excitement over the news that the Premier League have announced clubs can return to contact training this week.
The announcement is the next phase in returning to complete the current campaign and plenty of Leeds fans have reacted to a tweet from journalist Hay on the matter. Several were buzzing at the news, perhaps as it gives them an opportunity to clinch promotion on the pitch.
Meanwhile, others were quick to point out that this means the ‘null and void’ option now looks likely – which will please them as that outcome would have seen them remain in the Championship.
Here is what some had to say…
Premier League agrees unanimously to resume contact training. “Squads are now able to train as a group and engage in tackling while minimising any unnecessary close contact.” Another step forward.
