Many Leeds United fans tore into Kiko Casilla following their defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon, with a plethora of the club’s faithful calling for the Spaniard to be dropped on Twitter.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side had looked to be heading to a goalless draw with one of their fierce Yorkshire rivals, however the Argentine saw his side collapse in the final few minutes of the contest.
Jacob Murphy and Atdhe Nuhiu put the Whites to the sword at Elland Road with late efforts and extended Leeds’ poor form, whilst also pushing them a point adrift of Championship leaders West Bromwich Albion.
Indeed, the Peacocks have found it difficult to win recently – especially during the festive period – as Bielsa’s side have managed just one win in their last six matches (per BBC).
Casilla came in for plenty of the criticism following the final whistle, with fans tearing into the former Real Madrid shot-stopper and slamming his ability in between the sticks.
Some supporters were infuriated with his role in conceding the goal Murphy had scored as he had been beaten at his near post, whilst others had stated that the ban that the veteran could be facing for alleged racial discrimination from an incident back in November could not come soon enough.
