What a start to the season Ben White has had. His solidity at the heart of Marcelo Bielsa’s defence has ensured they’re flying high at the top of the table, and he’s even won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month Award for August.
He’s played every Championship minute this season since joining the Whites on loan from Brighton this summer, and it’s easy to see why considering his colossal performance during the 3-0 win away at Stoke City in late August, earning him an 8.16 rating on WhoScored. The loss of Pontus Jansson was mourned by Leeds fans over the summer, but they seem to have found just the man to replace him.
White picked up 44% of the vote to beat Swansea City’s Borja Baston to the award, who earned 16%. The 21-year-old guided Leeds to three clean sheets in six games before being presented with the award on Wednesday, and Leeds fans showed just how impressed they’ve been by the Brighton loanee so far this season.
