Leeds United: Fans urge Andrea Radrizzani to spend in January

When Andrea Radrizzani took to Twitter to share a message with the Leeds United faithful ahead of Christmas, many of the supporters appeared to share their festive wish with him: to make sure he learnt from last year’s mistake and make some additions in January.

The Italian owner shared a post from the club’s own feed showing them in second place in the Championship after at the mid-way point of the campaign, despite having suffered a defeat to fellow promotion rivals Fulham earlier in the day.

Whilst he thanked everyone for their support, he also started the message by urging fans to continue to stand up and follow the club together as they try and finally achieve their aims of returning to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years.

However, it seems fans believe that would only happen if Radrizzani took on board what happened at the beginning of 2019 and did not make the same mistake as we head into a new decade.

Plenty of the Elland Road faithful called for the Italian to put his hands in his pockets and dig deep this January, therefore allowing them to have a chance of securing a promotion spot as there appears to be a general consensus that the squad Marcelo Bielsa has available to him is currently missing certain aspects.

Please don’t fall into the same trap as last season. A careful bit of business in January could make the difference when it comes to the ‘business end’ of the season. Not asking you to break the bank but just to add a bit more quality to a good squad. Merry Christmas to you all
