Leeds United: Player praised by fans after taking part in challenge

Plenty of Leeds United fans have reacted to midfielder Jamie Shackleton’s ‘Run for Heroes’ challenge.

With football at a standstill due to the recent pandemic, footballers have been engaging with fans through various challenges, and Shackleton is the latest player from Elland Road to share footage of himself taking part.

Shackleton has made 14 appearances this term for Marcelo Bielsa’s table topping side, performing well of late after featuring in the Whites’ last five league games.

The 20-year-old developed through Leeds’ academy before making his first team debut against Derby in 2018, and he has since gone on to make 40 appearances for the Whites.

Leeds are on the verge of a return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence, sitting one point ahead of second placed West Bromwich Albion. Whilst football’s return is not yet known, Shackleton will undoubtedly be expected to play a part in helping Leeds gain automatic promotion to England’s top flight.

Shared by @leedsthat on social media platform Twitter, Shackleton was seen completing the run in 18 minutes, sparking a reaction from the club’s fans.
