While, clearly, it had to end at some point, the manner in which Leeds United gave up their otherwise undefeated start to league life under Marcelo Bielsa was hugely disappointing. Especially when it came at the hands of Garry Monk
Indeed, with Birmingham City winning at Elland Road yesterday, plenty of Yorkshiremen online are fearing the worst. Everyone knows just how arduous a Championship campaign can be and Leeds seriously tailed off during it while under Monk’s stewardship a couple of seasons ago.
So, it’s a case of deja vu for many Leeds fans online. Clearly, losing games is to be expected in the Championship, though the deflating nature of a loss at the hands of a struggling Blues side has sparked a meltdown on social media.
