Leicester City fans in the Transfer Tavern have been in buoyant mood so far during the 2015-16 campaign and they have enjoyed many a tipsy night, following their club’s start to the season.
The Foxes have surpassed all pre-season expectations already and sit in a lofty third place in the Premier League after picking up 22 points from their 11 league games.
One of the standout performers of their campaign to date has been Algerian international Riyad Mahrez who has netted eight goals and got the punters in the Tavern purring.
With the club worried about losing one of their most influential players with the January transfer window approaching, they will be pleased to hear that Mahrez isn’t interesting and is focused on the task ahead at the King Power Stadium. He told Club Call:
“We are taking the season game by game. The first target is the 40 points we need to stay in the division and once that is reached we then reassess.”
The fans are delighted by the comments, as they are now convinced they can keep hold of the talented Algerian until the summer- which will be vital to their plans this season.
